Tammy

Registered Nurse/ ATODS registered yoga therapist

Tammy has worked as a nurse since 1994, specialising in mental health, ATOD prevention, health promotion, and high-dependency care. Her clinical background is grounded in supporting individuals experiencing trauma, chronic stress, and nervous-system dysregulation.

At Noosa Confidential, Tammy delivers trauma-aware mindfulness and body-based interventions that support emotional regulation, internal safety, and recovery capacity. Her work is practical and evidence-informed, focusing on how trauma is held in the body and nervous system rather than revisiting past events.

Tammy supports clients to build steadiness, agency, and resilience — key foundations for sustainable recovery and long-term change within a structured, clinically supported environment.

What does wellbeing look like for you, day to day?
Giving myself time and space in the morning - to meditate, sip my tea, feel & listen to where I’m at - mentally, physically, emotionally Watch the sunrise from where ever I am Set intentions. Move Breathe - sometimes it’s yoga or surfing or pilates, walking or playing with my dog. Listening to music & dancing.
What’s one small ritual or practice that helps keep you centred?
Tuning into the 5 senses and taking in the good of them (savouring)
Why did you choose to work in this space?
Trauma space in general : From a young age I had a calling toward wanting to understand the mind and humans in general. I wanted to understand the cause of suffering and wanted to do what I could to help relieve suffering - especially unnecessary suffering that the mind causes.
What’s one thing you wish people understood about recovery?
That it takes time because brain change takes time. And it’s always a “Team Effort” (they are part of that team)
